A Little Sip & Swap Thank You

This weekend’s Sip & Swap was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I started Coastal Connect in the first place.

A huge thank you to Earthbound Farm and Taylor Farms for welcoming us back again this year and giving us such an incredible space to gather. There is something so special about an open-air space where you can sit in the sunshine, enjoy lunch and a glass of wine, bring your friends and family, and just spend a few hours together.

I loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and, of course, shopping through each other’s closets. There is something about looking through someone else’s clothes that tells you a lot about their personality — and it is also a pretty great excuse to go through your own closet and finally get rid of the things you’ve been holding onto.

The best part came yesterday when I dropped off all of the clothing donations with Gathering for Women. Seeing those bags of clothes go to women in our own community was incredibly rewarding. It brought me right back to why I started Coastal Connect, to create a way for women to connect, support one another, and find meaningful ways to make a difference in our community.

And for those of you who didn’t know about the event ahead of time or didn’t have clothes to bring, thank you for your monetary donations. Because of your generosity, we were also able to purchase items from the Gathering for Women Amazon Wish List, including lotion, hats, underwear, all essentials for the women they serve.

That might seem like a small thing, but standing there and seeing the gratitude for those donations was a really good reminder that small acts of generosity can have a very real impact.

So, thank you. For showing up. For bringing your friends. For cleaning out your closets. For donating. For shopping. For laughing, connecting, and supporting one another.

And thank you for making Coastal Connect what it is.

I’m already looking forward to the next one.
